"Nineteen-year-old Beverly Jama Schmeekle was killed Tuesday when her auto was crushed by a large fire truck on an emergency run to what turned out to be a false alarm. The Escondido girl apparently died from chest injuries in the fatal collision witnessed by several other motorists who had stopped to let the fire truck pass." [Envelope contains additional images.
