"Petra Gomez, queen of the Mexican Independence Day fiesta held Tuesday and Wednesday, was helped with refreshements by David Miranda, assistant fiesta parade chairman, and Maria Alvarado at Grape Day Park Wednesday night. The two-day event attracted about 2,000 persons and was termed the most successful fiesta yet."
