Scope and Contents
2 folders containing materials related to CSUSM's Native Advisory Council (NAC), of which Biggs was a member. Folder contains materials related to many activities related to the NAC, including NAC Advisory meetings, the NAC Fundraising Committee Public Affairs and Outreach Subcommittee, and the NAC Parternships and Linkages Committee. The majority of the materials in the folder are copies of their meeting notes, meeting agendas, and meeting minutes. Many of these notes and agendas include the names of the members in attendance. The following are the names of a handful of members collected from these documents, but it should be noted that this is most likely not a complete list of the NAC membership: President Karen S. NAC-related materials include include a letter from President Haynes to tribal leaders, introducing herself and including an invitation to the meeting, led by Tribal Liaison Bonnie Biggs. Other materials include a memorandum from Biggs regarding the date for the meeting (to be held on October 4, 2005); an email from Biggs to members of the NAC, asking them to mark their calendars for October 4; two RSVP lists for the meeting, and Biggs' handwritten notes from the meeting. Folder also includes materials from other events, such as Tishmall Turner's email to the NAC regarding a retreat meeting that was held at CSUSM on June 11, 2013; a NAC report to Haynes from their second Annual Tribal Education Summit, held in November 2012; and an email from Haynes, inviting recipients to the Fifth Annual Southern California Tribal Education Summit for November 2015. Folder also includes miscelleaneous items such as a schedule of NAC events from 2010; a list of NAC members and their contact information for the 2010/2011 school year; NAC's mission statement; a draft of the NAC mission statement and goals;a NAC calendar of events for the 2013/2014 school year; NAC's Strategic Direction for the 2012/2013 school year; two memorandums from CSUSM regarding the Proposal for the California Indian Culture and Sovereignty Center (CICSC), one from March 2009 and one from August 2009, the proposal was approved; and CSUSM President’s Report to Tribal Nations, April 2018; NAC Tribal Liaison Reports (2006, 2007); NAC Strategic Alignment Plan, 2008/2009 (2 copies); list of NAC Committees, 2008/2009 + goals of each committee (2 copies); and two lists of NAC members and their contact info (one from 2005 and one from 2007). Other CSUSM-related NAC reports are also included in the folder, such as the “Resolution in Support of the Tukwut as a Campus Symbol,” (2006); “California State University San Marcos Advisory Councils: 2006-07 Action Plan,” produced by Karen S. Haynes, President, which includes information about the African American Advisory Council, Hispanic Advisory Council, Native Advisory Council, and University Advisory Council; and “California State University San Marcos All Councils Fall Summit Planning Matrix” (2 copies). Other reports are included in the folder, such as the “California Indian Culture and Sovereignty: A Focus for Excellence” report (2 copies, one copy includes Biggs' handwritten notes); North County Higher Education Alliance (NCHEA) Fall report (2008); and Tribal Communities Task Force Report (Nov 2006). Folder also includes Biggs' handwritten notes from two NAC conference call (n.d., 2008), from a meeting with Patti Dixon, and from a NAC meeting (June 2007). Folder also contains miscellaneous mateirals such as a letter from President Haynes to Biggs, inviting her to join the NAC (2005); a list of tribes under the Southern California Tribal Chairmen’s Association; and a print out copy of a powerpoint presentation, “Master of Public Administration in Tribal Government, Management and Leadership," by Dr. Joely De La Torre.

Conditions Governing Access
The collection is open for research. Some materials have been restricted because of FERPA or concerns with Personally Identifiable Information. Select items/Contents have been reformatted and have digital access copies. Access to original [audio tapes, video recordings, etc.] is restricted; researchers may request viewing copies. The Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room is accessible by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm. Final requests for materials must be made one hour prior to closing. Please submit requests for archival materials at least 24 hours in advance of desired appointment. Materials requested over the weekend will be available on the following Tuesday at the earliest.
