"[word missing] at has to be entered in order to set to the place where the photo will be taken. So meet him at the house and follow him to the cite [sic]. There is no real place of worship except for specific cites [sic] outdoors and he'll lead you to the most beautiful cite [sic] they worship at. He said it was near Elfin Forest. Try to get a good, interesting shot, and something significant to the congregration." [Photographs seemingly for an unpublished story. Pastor William Eade of the First Wiccan Church of Escondido was the story contact. The church was organized in 1994 in Escondido to dispel the negative image of Wicca, and had a congregation of about 60 individuals at the time of the photography. Conditions Governing Access
The Dan Rios papers are currently undergoing processing and are open for research. The department has internal documentation over what is in individual envelopes and can search for people, places, and events from 1968 - 2001 in advance of any visits so that we can ensure we have materials on hand for researchers. Please contact Special Collections in advance to request access.
The Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room is accessible by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm. Final requests for materials must be made one hour prior to closing.
