Folder contains Ron Packard's speeches, speech cards, and speech prep documents from the years 1985 to 1986. Topics included his reflection on the first 7 months of the 98th Congress; the value and contribution of women (Vista Sorptimist); Tax Code Overhaul, the Orange County Tax Questionnaire results, and an AP Wire discussing House Speaker Tip O’Neill’s sentiments on President Reagan’s tax plan; National Day of Fasting to Combat Hunger on November 24th, 1985; support for Impact Aid Funds in front of the Subcommittee on Labor, Health Services, and Education; immigration concerns, the National Employee Benefits Institute; the opening of the Center for Near Eastern Studies in Jerusalem; the sailing victory against Australians for America’s Cup; support for H.R. 5397; and support for Mental Illness Awareness Week for the week of October 5, 1986.

Conditions Governing Access

This collection is open for research. The Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room is accessible by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm. Final requests for materials must be made one hour prior to closing. Please submit requests for archival materials at least 24 hours in advance of desired appointment. Materials requested over the weekend will be available on the following Tuesday at the earliest.
