Scope and Contents
Folder contains information regarding funding for public works and public transportation in Congressman Packard's district. Included are letters to and from Congressman Packard expressing his wants and priorities with the reauthorization of ISTEA (Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act); the widening of State Route 76; new interchanges off the 76 and 5 Highways; improvements to the 78 Highway; toll roads; as well as more interchanges between other highways, such as State Route 79; the Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency's response to the Transportation Project Evaluation Criteria which looked at aspects of these highway improvements; a testimony given by the Exec. VP of Finance and Administration within the Transportation Corridor Agency before the Surface Transportation Subcommittee that would decide on some of the improvements; the 1996 Regional Transportation Plan and Improvement Program; the Light Rail Project; and the results of the Subcommittee.

Conditions Governing Access
This collection is open for research. The Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room is accessible by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm. Final requests for materials must be made one hour prior to closing. Please submit requests for archival materials at least 24 hours in advance of desired appointment. Materials requested over the weekend will be available on the following Tuesday at the earliest.
