Folder contains joint letters co-signed by Representative Ron Packard and fellow congressmen, in support of or in concern about a variety of issues concerning California. These letters were sent to President George Bush, House committees, directors and chairmen of various departments, and fellow congressmen. Topics addressed offshore drilling and submarine safety; FY90 U.S. Forest Service Budget; trade with Japan and Korea; State Legalization Impact Assistance Grant; patent infringement on Chromium Picolinate; Steel Import Stabilization Act of 1984; water conservation and renewal contracts; appointment of Patricia Mayes Hines; Reform on congressional campaign finance system and ethics; Job Corp center in California; and Interactive Television Fixed Service system in Orange County.

Conditions Governing Access

This collection is open for research. The Special Collections and University Archives Reading Room is accessible by appointment only, Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm. Final requests for materials must be made one hour prior to closing. Please submit requests for archival materials at least 24 hours in advance of desired appointment. Materials requested over the weekend will be available on the following Tuesday at the earliest.
