For works describing Chicano heritage, use "Chicano heritage". For civil rights related to the Chicano movement, use "Chicano movement."

El Barrio was a community newspaper covering issues of importance to San Diego's Chicano community. It was printed on the verso side of the underground tabloid newspaper Street Journal/San Diego Free Press. The library's run may contain gaps. The Street Journal and El Barrio were printed on a semiregular, weekly basis. El Barrio byline: "The Official Organ of the Brown Berets: Published weekly by the San Diego Free Press."
